Bishop Jerry Reuben Moore was born July 22, 1944, in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Reverend Lynn Eugene Moore and the late Mrs. Roberta Barber Moore.
Jerry was educated in the public schools of Seminole County, Georgia. He received CHRIST as his SAVIOR at an early age. He loved working for THE LORD, and he loved GOD’S people. He was ordained as a Bishop and helped many people along his life’s journey.
Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Rosa Lee Oliver. The two were married for 52 years until she departed her earthly life on March 21, 2020. They resided in Donalsonville, rearing their family of three children: Christopher Taylor, Anthony Taylor and Tammie Moore Fonbah.
Bishop Jerry Reuben Moore departed his earthly life to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers Charles Moore and Dallas Moore.
Jerry leaves behind his three children; his first grandchild, Maetta Taylor; four grandchildren whom he raised as his own: Latara Virgin, Leteri Moore, Dieudonne’ Espoir, and L’viviskaa Fonbah; his remaining grandchildren: Antwan, Cherrill, Ladarian, Anthony Jr., Anthony III, Christopher James, Shaneka, Alexis Christianna, Christine, Avery, and Darryl; several great grandchildren; his five brothers: Blake Moore of Marianna, FL, Amin Rashad (Dallas) of Miami, FL, Keith Moore (Ebony) of Green Acres, FL, Lynn Moore (Denise) of Boynton Beach, FL, and Dennis Crawford of Donalsonville, GA; his six sisters: Betty Lou Miller of Tampa, FL, Gloria Jean Fayson of Sanford, FL, Bobbie Jean Donaldson of Greenwood, FL, Ivey Henry of Atlanta, GA, Sharon Wimberly of Opa Locka, FL, and Sonja Carson of Bainbridge, GA; four brothers-in-law: James Oliver (Edna) of Tampa, FL, Troy Oliver, Freddie Oliver, both of Perry, FL, and Spencer Oliver of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters-in-law, Marie Oliver and Betty Oliver, both of Perry, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
