Mrs. Bobbie Jean Manley Blue was born and raised in Donalsonville, Georgia, to the late Deacon Albert and Deaconess Thelma Manley. After graduating high school, she ventured to New York City with her cousin Emily Johnson, where she worked diligently as a domestic worker and built meaningful connections that shaped her early adult life.

It was in Jamaica, New York, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she met the love of her life, Deacon John Winston Blue. The two were united in marriage on July 14, 1963, beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in faith, family, and service. Mrs. Blue believed in showing love through giving her time, her generosity, her support, and a helping hand to those in her community who needed it the most.

Upon returning to Georgia, Mrs. Blue began a 26-year career as a Police Dispatcher for the Donalsonville Police Department, where she served with commitment, professionalism, and pride. She later worked as a Substitute Teacher for Seminole County Schools, continuing her dedication to service and community.

Mrs. Blue was known for many things, such as her flawless sense of style, her sharp eye, and the way she always carried herself with dignity. She loved baking cakes, going fishing, and cooking meals that brought family and friends together. A true Southern matriarch, she was famous for her Sunday dinners, and on weekdays she often treated loved ones to fried fish meals, steak dinners, and crab boils. Being surrounded by family brought her joy, and if Mrs. Blue was smiling, someone had surely said something worth laughing about.

She was a devoted member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. Here she served faithfully on the Deaconess Board and carried herself as an example of quiet strength, grace, and wisdom.

Mrs. Blue was preceded in death by her husband Deacon John W. Blue and her siblings Albert Manley Jr., Theodric Manley, Willie James Haynes, Claudette Salter, Billy J. Dempsey and Frank W. Manley. She was the last of this generation.

She leaves in loving remembrance her devoted daughter Veita Ford; her son-in-love Robert Ford; her grandson Ryan Ford (Nyhema); and her great grandchildren Nyla’Faith, Sarya’Naomi and Zayd. She also leaves a special uncle Kenneth Z. King, uncle Charles King, and a host of special nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart and who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and steady presence in their lives.

Those who knew Mrs. Blue know that her life was one marked by faith, family, and a commitment to doing things “the right way”. Her legacy will continue in the values she instilled, the traditions she began, and the love she poured into the people she cared about. Her family and loved ones will carry her memory forward with gratitude, pride, and hearts full of the moments shared with her.

Though she will be deeply missed, the story of Mrs. Bobbie Jean Manley Blue is not over. It lives on in every Sunday dinner, every burst of laughter at a family gathering, and every act of generosity done in her honor. The imprint she made on this world remains; and for that, her family is thankful.

Her work here is complete, and she now rests in the Arms of THE LORD.
