Deacon Clem Junior Copeland, age 83, was born March 27, 1942, in Pike County, Alabama, to the late Clemmie and Elizabeth-Mincey Copeland. On October 12, 2025, he peacefully entered Eternal Rest with loved ones by his side.
Clem accepted CHRIST as his SAVIOR during his early years of life. He was a devoted Deacon at Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church of Donalsonville, Georgia, until his health declined.
Clem attended school in Chattahoochee, Florida, where he was raised most of his childhood.
Clem was a life-long farmer that spent most of his days tending the land he loved and taught all those around him the value of hard work, gratitude, and faith. He also worked many years at Shaw Industries in Bainbridge, Georgia. Clem was Seminole County’s first African American County Commissioner. He was truly a mentor and pillar to many in the community. His workmanship was nothing short of remarkable.
In addition to his parents, Clem was preceded in death by his son, Alfonza Copeland; sisters, Gladys Foreman and Lela Black; brothers: George Copeland, J. D. Copeland, Joseph Copeland, Henry Copeland, Paul Copeland, and Jim Copeland; and many special beloved family and friends.
