Mr. George Hallmon departed this earthly life Saturday evening, August 30, 2025, at Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, Georgia. Born October 26, 1939, in Damascus, Georgia, he was the son of the late Mr. Welton Bud and Mrs. Annie Barner Hallmon. George was married to Mother Mollie Lee Branch Hallmon of Damascus, Georgia.
Mr. George Hallmon joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Damascus at an early age. Back in the day, he sang quartet with his brothers, family and other groups. After his health began to fail, he moved to Miami, Florida, with his son Visionary Reverend Michael Hallmon and fellowshipped at the 93rd Street Community Missionary Baptist Church until moving back to Damascus to live with his son Tracy George Hallmon. Then, he renewed his membership at Mount Zion under the leadership of his oldest child Pastor Earl Hallmon.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sons: Pastor Earl Hallmon of Damascus, Georgia, Reverend Michael Hallmon (Minister Rosalyn Nicole) of Miami, Florida, Tracy G. Hallmon of Damascus, Georgia, and Welton Tyrone Hallmon of Edison, Georgia; two daughters, Shakesha Menette and Shundra Menette, both of Damascus, Georgia; grandchildren: Tameka Lashay Hallmon, Keshaunda Parrish, Michael Hallmon II (Britney), Kevin Hallmon, Jamaal Hallmon, Tracy A. Hallmon, Tenisha Hallmon, Quenisha Hallmon, Traynecia Hallmon, Tyonna Hallmon, Latoya Hallmon Emmanuel, Isaiah Hallmon, Elisha Hallmon, Rodham Grant, Mason Grant, Areyona Grant, Shakenda Menette, Dajjah Menette, Bryson Thompson, and Mercy Paris; great grandchildren: Raheed, Christine, Kayden, Kiro-Adam, Arlisha-Kali, Givinchy, Ellie, Mill, Lorine, Kimberly, and Keondre; four brothers: Bishop Willie Hallmon (Minister Catherine) of North Carolina, Rufus Hallmon (Sarah), Albert Hallmon, and Jack Hallmon (Dee), all of Miami, Florida; two sisters, Helen Hayes of Blakely, Georgia, and Ann Black (Jimmy) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; one sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Williams Hallmon of Miami, Florida; nieces and nephews (offsprings of the union of two brothers and two sisters) whom he raised as his own: Betty Hallmon Roberts, Deacon Calvin Hallmon, Larry Hallmon (Bernice), all of Damascus, Georgia, Minister Candis L. Hayes of Valdosta, Georgia, Sylvester Hallmon, Deacon Russell Hallmon Jr. (Juliette), both of Albany, Georgia, Rachel Hayes, Lakeshia Hayes, and Cynthia Hayes, all of Blakely, Georgia; and a host of additional nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
