Leola Samuel Tucker was born December 21, 1946, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to the late Mr. Elijah and Mrs. Alice Samuel. She was educated in the Decatur County Public School System.
Sister Tucker gave her life to CHRIST at a young age and joined Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She later transitioned her membership to Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary Department.
Leola met Willie C. Tucker Sr. early in life, and the two were joined in Holy Matrimony. Their union birthed seven children.
She met and served many in her careers at the Decatur County Public School System, Bainbridge Memorial Hospital, Bainbridge Healthcare and Rehab, and Decatur County Training Center. Her infectious smile brightened many lives.
Sister Tucker departed her earthly life peacefully at home on December 22, 2025, after celebrating her 79th birthday with her loved ones the day before. She was preceded in death by her son, Mr. Marchester Tucker Sr.; her granddaughter, Miss Tracy Howard; her siblings: Mrs. Rachel Parris, Mrs. Beulah Edwards, Deacon Ozell Samuel Sr., and Mr. Wilson Samuel; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Samuel.
She leaves behind three daughters and three sons: Janice Tucker of Atlanta, Georgia, Willie C. Tucker Jr., George Tucker, Ricky Tucker, Cynthia Tucker, and Polisa Tucker, all of Bainbridge, Georgia; along with two loving sisters, Mary Smart of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Iona Cason of Albany, Georgia; a beloved brother, Joseph Samuel Sr. (Diane) of Atlanta, Georgia; and a special friend, Alphonso Bynes of Florida. She had twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Additionally, she is embraced in love by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends and church family, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
