Robert “Bob” Moyer, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on September 26, 2026, surrounded by the memories, love, and family that meant so much to him. Born January 15, 1938, in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, Bob was one of nine siblings and grew up knowing the value of family, hard work, and perseverance.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. Following his military service, he worked in a steel mill in Pennsylvania, continuing the tradition of hard work that would define much of his life.

On March 25, 1961, Bob married the love of his life, Mary Lou Boyd. Together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, adventure, and countless memories. Eventually, Bob and Mary Lou moved to Florida, where they owned and operated the Driftwood Inn in Bartow for many years. Their years at the bar brought them into the lives of many people and created a lifetime of stories that Bob carried with him long after retirement.

After retiring, Bob settled in Bainbridge, Georgia, where he found a new kind of joy in working a small family farm and raising cattle. He was happiest when he was close to home, surrounded by family, and had something to keep his hands busy.

But perhaps Bob’s greatest accomplishment was the family he built and the love he gave so freely to them. He treasured watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow through every stage of life. He was proud of each of them and loved having everyone together. Some of the best family memories were made during those gatherings, especially when it was time for what Bob affectionately called “beer thirty.” Those moments of sitting together, sharing stories, laughing, and simply enjoying one another were never really about the beer. They were about family, togetherness, and making time for the people you love.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou; his father, Delbert; his mother, Della; his son, Dennis; and six of his brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind his son, Mark; his daughter, Tammy (Greg); his grandson, Michael (Stephanie); his granddaughter, Nina (Dale); his grandson, Alex (Lanier); his great grandsons, William (Mallory) and Marshall; his great granddaughters, Breonna and Kaitlyn; his sister, Vickey; his brother, Walt; and many other family members and friends who were blessed to know him.

Bob leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a family who carries pieces of him forward: his work ethic, his stories, his humor, his love of the simple things, and most importantly, his deep love for family.
