Robert White

July 4, 1935 — June 27, 2025

Donalsonville, GA

Robert Allen White was born on July 4, 1935, on the family farm to the parentage of the late Isaac and Mary Lee White. Robert was one of three siblings: brother, Paul, and sister, Mary, who preceded him in death.

Robert made his quiet and peaceful transition on Sunday, June 27, 2025. Our hearts are broken and rejoicing at the same time. Like all of us, he was a traveler passing through and is now at Home and a Citizen of Heaven.

As a dedicated and inquisitive student, Robert graduated from Seminole County Training School and was recognized as the Class Valedictorian. After high school, Robert attended Albany State College (now University) and graduated with a B. S. degree in Education.

After a very successful 30-year tenure as an educator, Robert retired from the Early County Public School System in 1990. During his professional career, Robert impacted the lives of countless youth and was a pillar of excellence in the Early County School System.

As an accomplished educator and academic scholar, Robert was known for his direct approach and stern disciplinary measures to address student issues. Robert was committed to the development of productive students, and his success in this endeavor can be directly tracked to the career paths of his students. He was a fierce champion for education, and this was reflected in every aspect of his character.

Robert joined Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia, at a very early age and served faithfully for more than 80 years. He served in various roles and capacities in the church, including singing in the choir for several decades.

Perhaps the most crowning moment in his Christian achievement was his ordination as a Deacon on March 15, 2020. He accepted this call with pride and humility and served dutifully in the church that he so loved. The fruits of his spirit were always present during every interaction. He was a man of faith, which was demonstrated in every aspect of his Christian walk–God truly ordered his steps.

In his spare time, Robert enjoyed a host of activities. These included watching the news, reading the newspaper, completing chores and tasks, and having lengthy and engaging telephone conversations with family and friends.

In addition, he enjoyed baseball–especially watching his favorite player, Willie Mays of the San Francisco Giants. Most of all, Robert enjoyed community service and helped so many residents in the community throughout the years.

Having been born on a farm, Robert had an extraordinary appreciation for the good earth. He loved to garden and spent countless hours on the family farm growing okra, squash, turnips, and other various fruits and vegetables.

At his finest, Robert was a dapper gentleman and took pride in looking his very best. In another season, he could have been the face of GQ Magazine.

Robert leaves cherished memories with the love of his life, Veronica Moore- White, his devoted wife of 39 years; a loving son, Kenyon White (Olivia); a beautiful granddaughter, Ophelia White; a stepson, Mitchell Davis (Vashonda); four stepgrandchildren: Jaxon Davis, Pryce Davis, Dailey Davis, and Nicholas Davis; a loving niece, Debra Jones; a loving nephew, Wayne Bryant Sr. (Denise); a devoted church-son, Alto Daniels (Jackie); and a loving church family and pastor, Dr. Patrick J. Gilley, Sr. (Tellesia). Also, he leaves fond memories with a host of additional family members and friends who all held a special place in his heart.
